Kenwood MC-60A vs TS- 590 Original Mic
I’ve been testing my Kenwood TS-590S with both the original handheld dynamoc microphone and a Kenwood MC-60A desktop microphone.
I’ve found diffilcult to set properly settings with MC-60A and internal Equalizer, and with the Microphone Processor.
The resulting quality, using both MC-60A and TS-590S processor was very poor, distorted and Microphone sensibility was so high that all background noise was them self enought to transmitt at high power.
Last week I took the opportunity to record my voice via the Twente Web SDR Â and tested both transmissions using MC-60A and the Dynamic microphone. Tests has been done in 20 meters band.
I’ve decided, that probably I don’t really need a desk microphone, at least this one.

Thanks for testing this Mic. I have been using a MC-60 with my TS-590S for about a week now. I discovered today that the processor level has to be very high to drive it properly also. It seemed to work ok with my Icom IC-745 which is retired in my basement currently, The MC-60 joined it today.
