After evaluating HF vertical antennas I’ve finally choosen and ordered my new vertical hf antenna.
Gap Titan DX is the choosen one.
According to characteristics and price the Titan resulted the one with the best price / performance ratio.
I ordered at Wimo (german ham radio dealer) and it arrived in 3 days via UPS.
Best price and fast delivery, thanks folks at wimo.
More posts will come about antenna setup
I have been trying to return to Amateur Radio, and the Titan Antenna looks to me like it would do the job the best. My house in Scottsdale Arizona has Power and Telephone lines coming in the back, making the back yard impossible for any antenna system. Sides, not much better, no utility lines but not that far from the next house. Seeing what you did with yours, reinforces my interest in the Titan.
Thanks.
Hi Simone,
I’m in toss up of getting a GAP Titian DX or a Hygain AV-640 for my house back in the Philippines.
I’m a little afraid cause of the Typhoons and high winds there. There was one real bad Typhoon last year and flooded everywhere. Reading the manual, I guess I could cement a 6 feet hole for a base, then, guy it to the back of my roof. My front is covered by electrical wires, and, houses on the side. So the back is all clear with rice farms.
How the antenna doing for you? Any good DX?
The box it came in looks pretty big. Can you please tell me the dimensions?
Thanks.

If you have the power and telephone lines in your back yard there’s no reason (except for $$$) why you couldn’t have those lines buried and therefore out of harms way!
If you’re worried about Typhoons, why not mount it in a manner that will leave you able to quickly either remove it or somehow “tilt it over” so it lies horizontally.
I think the key thing to remember here is that we, as hams, should be inventive and, when there’s not a standard solution for our problem, come up with our own unique solution that fits the problem. Just try thinking (sorry for the cliche) “outside of the box” a bit and I think you’ll be surprised at what you can come up with!
