IP-Sound
IP-Sound is a windows based application for audio exchange in a pont to point mode.
It has been designed to work over a TCP/IPv4 network (internet).
The main purpose of IP-Sound is to provide low quality audio 8-16kHz, with low latency for use together with remote control software for amateur-radio amateur equipment.
I’ve used this cool application exactly to test my radio remote control over the internet.
IP-Sound is developed by SM5VXC and can be downloaded fron here IPS-v0.57a
Ouch, 7 second latency on a gigabit LAN 50 feet apart!
IP-sound is a perfect piece of software. We use it for the IP connection from a 70cm receiver to the 70 repeater transmitter with 1,6Mhz shift. By sepparate the RX and TX there is no need for complicated filters.
We use it now over 1- years.

Greetings Simone,
Thank you for your support of Ham Radio.
Regarding IP-Sound IPS-v0.57a, are you aware of any problem with Windows 10 x64 pro (fully up to date) which causes the IP-Sound programme to become invisible!! It seems to have disappeared although the .exe file still exists. It was displayed immediately after install but never again after IP-Sound froze up. I cannot display the program at all. I have of course uninstalled and re-installed several times.
Any suggestions
Dear Allan,
I’ve never used on latest Windows 10. Keep in mind that new OSes always requires up dated applications.
Please describe in detail how I can connect my Windows 10 audio output to the input of IP-Sound. I cannot get it to work. Please reply to my e-mail address. Len, W1ZTL
The GUI is supposed to minimize in the system tray in Windows 10. It disappears. It is still running. How do I get the GUI back?
I installed in Windows 10. Did not work. I used your uninstall app. ipsound.exe was not deleted. Apparently when exiting ipsound it remains as a background task. After ending task I could load ipsound.exe. This is not completely compatible with windows,
IP-sound disappears to the tray in windows 10,
The tray appears with the ? in the lower right corner of the screen. select it and the icon for IP-Sound
and it will apear.
The other shortcuts will not run the program.
Doesn’t work in Windows 10. No GUI appears after installation, then run. I tried running in compatibility mode for Windows Vista – no success.
I tried a while and you have to keep both windows (on both PCs) open and configure it right. Once the link is working / the settings are right, then the window can be reopened in later sessions. If not you are stuck and have to reinstall the program again … I am running it on a Win7 and a Win10 PC and meanwhile it runs fine.
Remote device for me is a MacBook Pro laptop. Hope there is a version of IP-Sound for Mac OS Sierra ver 10.12. I do not run Parallels.
I have ipsoud for 2-3years to connect my hf transceiver and talk from a distance of 10 km through a network to 2.4 ghz with 2 pc with the windows xp and ok.now perfect dut it comes out strange noises in what I get tested and although the problem remains I do not know what it is supposed to happen.
THANK YOU a lot of greetings
IP sound is far better than Remaud is works flawlessly on my computer!
Thankyou so much!!!
Gracias Simone, sencillo y funcional
