VK5AH developed an antenna while camping near Lake Eyre, representing a substantial improvement over the traditional mobile whip. This innovative design seamlessly attaches to the mobile mount, with the opposite end raised to a nearby tree or support. Typically deployed at a 45-degree angle as a sloper, the coil serves as an RF choke, similar to the 4 Bander dipole design. Extending the ends by approximately 6.9 meters facilitates operation on 160 meters, with a frequency adjustment of about 3 kHz per inch on that band.
